What kinds of games did you like to play when you were young?

When playing card games, kids are really bad at keeping their cards hidden.

Sometimes you might catch a glimpse of a child's cards but you do your best not to use that information when taking your turn.

Sometimes an adult will actually look at the child's card the entire game in an attempt to teach the child how to play.

One important step when making a New Year's resolution is to figure out what you need to stop doing in order to do something new.

In order to move forward, we need to FORGET the past.

The first thing we need to forget are our past sins. God has made a way for us to move past our sin.

All the people's sin was put on the scapegoat.

The scapegoat would wander away from the people.

You might be thinking, "That's great for some people but you don't know what I've done!"

You don't know what other people think of me becuase of what I've done wrong.

You don't know how ashamed of myself I am.

You don't know how disappointed I am in myself.

Acts of the Apostles 3:17-19 NLT

If God can forgive the people who murdered His Son, He can forgive you!

The second thing we need to forget are our past problems.

Jesus said we can come to Him with our past problems!

...however exhausting, God wants you to bring your problems to Him!

Jeremiah was known as the weeping prophet because he faced incredible challenges in his life!

At one point he was arrested and thrown into a cistern.

He wrote the book of Lamentations about all the challenges he faced.

The third thing that we need to forget are our past failures!

We need to forget some things to move forward with Jesus!

Think about, pray about what you need to forget about. Then write it down and leave it behind (in the past).

Forget about it so you can move forward!

The past sin, problem, or failure may not be totally forgotten but you must not use that knowledge when make a decision for your future!
