If God really is God, and he can do anything he wants in any way he chooses—the question is why did God choose to do it this way?

Christmas is how God chose to make his entrance.

Hebrews 4:15-16

What is your picture of God?

What kind of God would you trust?

A God who takes control and gives people no choice?

A God who stays in heaven and shouts advice and commands from far away?

A God who is waiting to condemn you for not believing or behaving in the right ways?

A God who doesn’t understand or care because he can’t relate to you?

A God whose family was just as messed up as yours and mine.

A God who knows what it’s like to be betrayed by a friend.

A God who came into our world the way each of us came into the world…a human birth.

A God who says, “I get it”.

That’s a God I could…trust.

Immanuel: God with us.

“I love you.”

“I forgive you.”

“Dinner’s ready.”
