1. How well do you remember to lift our political leaders up in prayer? Rate yourself from 1-10. Why did you rate yourself that way? How do you feel like praying for our leaders would help you to have a more godly mindset of politics?
2. When there are people around you who seem to be unhealthily focused on political things, how well do you turn the focus of the conversation back on Christ? What would help you do that better?
3. What practical step(s) can you take in order to better point people towards Christ with the way you talk about and interact with politics? Why would that help? Who will keep you accountable to accomplishing that?

We are partnering with Keller Park Missionary Church, located in the Keller Park Neighborhood here in South Bend, to help those with food insecurities during this time. You can help monetarily through their website, kellerparkchurch.org (click on the donate tab, then choose the COVID-19 Response Fund), or you can drop food items off or have them shipped to 1822 Sherman Ave. South Bend, IN. 46616. Please call/text Pastor Carrie at (574) 612-9703 before you come to make sure they are ready for your donation. Current food needs include gallons of milk (2% or whole preferred), eggs, and dinner rolls.

We have added online giving to our website, hmcworship.com. Feel free to give online, or snail mail a check to the church building at 21567 Ireland Rd. South Bend, IN. 46614. You can also give during our in-person services, via the security box in the wall located in the church foyer.

We have complied an “online-friendly,” updated version of our directory. In order to protect people’s information, we are not posting it online, though. CHURCH FAMILY HEALTH NEEDS: Continue to pray for Katy and her heart pump. Pray for the Rollfs and their new baby, Lily. Pray for the Clingenpeels, with their new baby, Ewan. Pray for the Runyons as they are in the process of selling their house. Pray for Randy as he faces uncertainty with his job situation. Pray for Bill Walters’ mother, as she as tested positive for Covid-19.<br> <br>MISSIONARIES: This month pray for the Mishkins in Israel.<br> <br>FAMILY OF THE WEEK: Each week we’ll pray for a different family in our church. This week pray for the Fricks. <br> <br>HILLSIDE HAPPENINGS: Pray that the church would continue to stay unified under Christ. Pray for our new service that happens online, and for the people joining us there. Pray that God would use us to bring His Kingdom here. <br> <br>CURRENT HAPPENINGS: Please pray for the current health pandemic in our world and in our country. Pray for medical staff and for our leaders as they navigate how to best help. Pray for our teachers and school administrators. Pray for the unrest and racial divide in our nation. In-Person Service Update
In accordance with the guidance from our local officials, we will be holding outdoor services, probably until sometime around early October. We are now meeting at 10am to beat the heat, but starting in September, we will move our service time back to 10:45. While we are holding our services outdoors, when the weather is bad, we will be holding services in the gym. We will announce, via facebook and email, no later than 8:00 am Sunday morning if we will be in the gym. In accordance with the guidance from our local officials, when we are meeting in the gym, we do ask that those 8 years old and older wear a mask until they are seated at least 6 feet away from other households. Whether we are indoors or outdoors, there will be no Sunday school, children’s ministries, or coffee bar. We ask that you bring your own lawn chair (chairs are available for those who don’t have them). No offering plates will be passed; instead we ask you to give online or via the giving box in the wall located in the church foyer. We also kindly ask you to use the restroom before you come, to ensure that our restrooms are as clean as possible for those who need to use them. Thank you for your continual faithfulness and flexibility during these times.
Graduate Connections
We recently had two young men leave for the military. We’d love for you to encourage them through written letters. In order to protect their information, please contact Pastor Josh or see the in-person, paper bulletin for their addresses.
Small Group
If you’re looking to go deeper with what Pastor Josh preaches on Sunday mornings or just looking for some extra fellowship time with your church family, a small group will be meeting on Sundays after the service. We are also launching several other small groups in both in-person and online formats! If you are interested, please contact Pastor Josh with any questions.
