Recap the previous weeks...

- About God
- About God the Father
- About Jesus Christ
- About the Holy Spirit
- About Salvation
- About the Bible
Two different categories that our beliefs fall under...

Essentials = essential beliefs for salvation

Non-Essentials = Beliefs not directly related to salvation and who God is
Non-Essential Beliefs

Believers develop definite stances in the following areas, most of which have the potential for controversy. A person’s stand on these beliefs affects how they relate to God and others. However, it is our stand that NONE of the beliefs are essential for salvation and therefore, should be approached with love and grace and not be cause to divide the body of Christ.
About People
People are made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called ‘sin’. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
About the Church
We believe that the Church is the body and bride of Christ, was founded on the day of Pentecost, and consists of all Christians everywhere.
About Eternity
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally withGod through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
About Eternal Security
The way you can tell a person is a Christian is by their fruit. In our church we encourage everyone to grow in Christ, and love others to Christ instead of judging them to Christ.
About Spiritual Gifts
We believe:
- You can believe some of the gifts from the Holy Spirit are for today and be wrong and still be a Christian.
- You can believe that none of the gifts from the Holy Spirit are for today, and be wrong and still be a Christian.
- You can believe that all of the gifts from the Holy Spirit are for today, and be wrong and still be a Christian.
About Communion
It is distinctive of our church that we take communion every week.
About Tithing/Giving to support God’s Work
At North Christian Church we believe in practicing stewardship of all our resources, time, ability, possessions and finances, with the understanding they are all God’s to be used for His glory and furthering His kingdom.
About the Priesthood of every believer
The Bible teaches that every Christian is called to "full time" Christian service, regardless of his or her vocation. We practice the truth that every believer is a minister by encouraging every member to find a place of service.Every believer has direct access to God through prayer and Bible reading and are called to witness and to minister.
About the end times
We have people with many views on this issue at NCC. Some are pre-millennial, others are amillennial, and thereare various other differing views. This is not a test of fellowship. We believe that there will be a literal return ofChrist and a Judgment Day.
In the Essentials, unity
In the non-essentials, liberty
In all things, Love
