How does the heart affect your place in the church family?
Jeremiah 9:23-24 ESV
The heart is like a house with two floors.
You usually enter the house on the first level. Visitors can become very familiar/comfortable with the first floor.
The lower floor is where the flesh dwells. Anybody can live here.
The upper floor is where the Spirit of God dwells.
Evil resides on the lower level of our heart.
We tend to be relationally poor.
Lower-level relationships:
1. Cordial Relationships
2. Cooperative Relationships
3. Consoling Relationships
4. Counseling Relationships
5. Conforming Relationships
Lower-level living is familiar and convenient.
We need are relationships where the life of Christ pours out of us to energize the life of another. Where we do not merely love the idea of a spiritual family, we actually love one another.
