Week 11 - I Cross My Heart
What’s your favorite love song? The Spirit led Paul to write one to the church at Corinth. To teach what love is and isn’t Paul turned to the greatest illustration of love. By listening and looking to Jesus we can learn to love one another well in any age and season.

About FM First Baptist
Flower Mound First Baptist has been making much of Jesus in the Timber Creek area for over 30 years. Every week we gather to magnify Christ in word & deed, mature as Christ-followers, and multiply and make disciples for Christ. Our garden is a living parable of the Good Gardener's work in and through us.

SONG LYRIC / / The Stand
Verse 1
You stood before creation
Eternity in Your hand
You spoke the earth into motion
My soul now to stand
Verse 2
You stood before my failure
And carried the cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon Your shoulders
My soul now to stand
Pre-Chorus
So what can I say
And what can I do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You
Verse 3
So I'll walk upon salvation
Your Spirit alive in me
My life to declare Your promise
My soul now to stand
Chorus
So I'll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all
I'll stand
My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yours

BIG IDEA : When everything goes dark it is only by faith – not by sight – that we are able to hold on to God.
Jesus believed the Father was there despite the darkness.
Jesus believed in God as Father.
Jesus believed it wasn't over.
Jesus believed in the Father's love.
Jesus believed his death was for the Father's glory and our good.
What's Next? Father, into your hands, I commit...
What's next? Father, into your hands I commit...
Jesus believed his death was for the Father's glory and our good.
SONG LYRIC / / Lead Me to the Cross
Verse 1
Saviour I come quiet my soul
Remember redemption's hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Pre-Chorus
Ev’rything I once held dear
I count it all as loss
Chorus
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh lead me lead me to the cross
Verse 2
You were as I tempted and tried human
The word became flesh
Bore my sin in death
Now You're risen
Bridge
To Your heart
To Your heart
Lead me to Your heart
Lead me to Your heart

Your Next Steps / /
Verse to Remember : Luke 23:46 (ESV), Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.
Point to Ponder : When everything goes dark it is only by faith – not by sight – that we are able to hold on to God.
Question to Consider : Do you believe always even in the dark?
