A few key points about spiritual gifts...
(from Life in the Spirit)
- They are gifts. They can't be earned or deserved.
- They are not a measure of spiritual maturity - the fruit of the Spirit is.
- The Holy Spirit operates through willing and cooperative people, not perfect ones.
- Unused gifts are wasted opportunities to see needs met supernaturally.
- When gifts are used, they are both encouraged and evaluated. (1 Thessalonians 5:19-21)
