Sometimes things in our lives grow quickly out of control. This can be good or bad. It depends on what's planted. Jesus tells people that following him is like planting a mustard seed – a bush that takes over everything.
1. Be intentional about what you plant in your life.
GROWTH GROUP / PERSONAL REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. Describe a time you or someone you know planted something that got too big or out of control.
2. Before this week’s message, what did you know about mustard seeds and mustard plants? What more do you know about them after listening to the sermon?
3. Describe a time you planted a seed of faith and how did it grow in your life?
5. In what area of your life right now might God be inviting you to plant a seed of faith?
6. What worries you about planting that seed? What excites you about it?

Commentary on the parable of the mustard seed

Next step:
Write down a list of pros and cons about planting a seed of faith. Ask God to engage you with this list in some way this week. Then, watch for conversations, articles, or situations God may be using to get your attention.
