How can we relate to each other in ways that require the Holy Spirit?

What makes the Lifeline Family unique?
Churches in America are leaning towards a social club model.
A spiritual family is identified by deep relationships.
A spiritual family has two types of relationships

1. Spiritual friendship – Occurs between godly-minded peers who share their lives together.

2. Spiritual direction – Occurs when time is set-aside with a respected person who agrees to listen, meditate, pray for and speak into a person’s life.
A social club model of church is identified by surface relationships.
How do we move into a spiritual family model of Church?

- Create a safe culture where each person can own and reveal their brokenness.

- Stop being a fixer.

- Stop putting labels on people.

- Do not see the dark valley of brokenness as a problem to be remedied, but rather an opportunity to engage in spiritual companionship.

- Avoid guarding my brokenness.

Brokenness is realizing that Jesus is all I have.
Hope is realizing that Jesus is all I need.
Joy is realizing that Jesus is all I want.
We need to immerse ourselves into the messy world of spiritual relationship so that we can confess our failures, admit our tensions, and discover our weaknesses.
BIG IDEA

Only God’s broken people experience spiritual family.
