Who in the world are we? No, really...
1 Peter 2:9-10 ESV
Israel, once a people, disintegrated when they turned to the State for their primary identity.
ZERUBBABEL, EZRA, NEHEMIAH
Zerubabbel restored worship as central to Israel’s identity.
We worship as a distinct PEOPLE.
Ezra restored God’s word as central to Israel’s mindset.
God’s people were indistinguishable from the pagans around them.
No substitutes for what God's word actually says.
Nehemiah restored Israel’s “face.”
The wall was designed to attract people to the city, not repel them.
Now Israel could be A PEOPLE.

> Educated in God's Word
> Culturally distinct & attractive.
