We have one of three options when it comes to God: we can ignore him completely, we can know about him, or we can choose to know him intimately. Three paths with wildly different destinations. Which will you choose?

God wanted their hearts, but they wanted him to be satisfied with their minds.
Jesus saw a deep love in the woman that the Pharisees withheld. And he blessed her because of it.
More than knowledge, more than faithfulness, God is looking for intimacy from his people.
Genesis 4:1 (KJV):
“Adam knew his wife Eve.”
yada’ is “to know and to be known completely.”
Genesis 4:1 (NIV):
“Adam lay with his wife Eve.”
yada’ has been called “a mingling of souls.”
yada’ is the word that’s used to describe how God knows you and how He wants to be known by you.
The same word, the same connection used to describe man and wife is used to describe how God wants to know you.
While it seems unfathomable that God knows us that profoundly and intimately, it seems even more unbelievable to me that God invites us to know Him!
That comfort, knowing that God’s with you can only come through intimacy.
