Psalms 27:1-14 CSB
INTRODUCTION
What makes you stand back in a sense of wonder and amazement? We have all been hardwired with a sense of awe. We crave the experience of being awestruck. God designed us to be awestruck by Him. Today, we look at the sense of awe David had for God.
[1] HIS ____________ INSPIRES AWE (v.1-3)
A. SALVATION THAT LIGHTS MY DARKNESS.
“The Lord is my light and salvation whom should I fear?" (v.1)
B. SALVATION THAT OVERCOMES THE ENEMY
“When evildoers came against me to devour my flesh, my foes and my enemies stumbled and fell.” (v.2)
C. SALVATION THAT GIVES ME PROTECTION
“Though and army deploys against me, my heart will not be afraid; though a war breaks out against me, I will still be confident.” (v.3)
"...You have been my helper; do not leave me or abandon me, God of my salvation. Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord cares for me.” (Psalm 27:9–10)
D. SALVATION THAT IS PERSONAL
"The Lord is MY light and salvation..."

A. PRESENCE THAT OUR SOUL LONGS FOR
"I have asked one thing from the Lord; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life... (v.4)
B. A PRESENCE THAT WE CAN TAKE REFUGE IN
“For he will conceal me in his shelter in the day of adversity; he will hide me under the cover of his tent.” (v.5)
C. A PRESENCE THAT ENSURES VICTORY
“Then my head will be high above my enemies around me...” (v.6)
D. A PRESENCE THAT IS ALWAYS ATTENTIVE
“Lord, hear my voice when I call; be gracious to me and answer me...” (v.7)
“What is man that You are mindful of him,And the son of man that You visit him?” (Psalm 8:4)

A. A BEAUTY THAT CANNOT BE DENIED
“…gazing on the beauty of the Lord and seeking him in his temple.” (v.4)
B. A BEAUTY THAT THE SOUL LONGS FOR
“My heart says this about you: ‘Seek his face.’ Lord, I will seek your face.”

A. A GOODNESS THAT I CAN COUNT ON
“I am certain that I will see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living.” (v.13)
B. GOODNESS I CAN BUILD MY LIFE ON
"...be strong and let your heart be courageous..." (v.14)
C. GOODNESS THAT'S ALWAYS ON TIME
"Wait for the Lord... Wait for the Lord." (v.14)
QUESTIONS
Do you need the Light of salvation?
Do you need to be reminded that He is there?
Do you need to see His goodness on display?
