Many times, when God calls us to change something in our lives, we will have a period of time marked by faithfulness. Often though, these times are short lived, and we backslide back to where we were. Unfortunately, that is the patern that we see the Israelites fall into throughout the Old Testament. That pattern is put on display here in Nehemiah chapter 13. By taking a close look at this story, we can see what led to their backsliding:
1. Letting the enemy into _______ places
Neh. 13:4-14, Eph. 4:26-27, 1 Pet. 5:8
2. Looking for _______ and ___________
Neh. 13:15-22, Prov. 21:2, Jer. 17:9-10
3. Lacking discernment in _________ with unbelievers
Neh. 13:23-27, 1 Cor. 15:33, 2 Cor. 6:14
