Focus:
We are in the third week in our story of Moses. Much of the first two weeks have been setting the groundwork for the bigger part of the story- the actual rescue of the Israelites from slavery to Egypt. This week, God moves from working in the background to center stage. And His first move? To call the one He has been preparing, Moses.
Do you believe that God uses people to do good works today? Have you ever felt the call of God in your life? We see the struggles that Moses had with his calling. Do you ever struggle to believe that you are qualified... that you are good enough... to be used by God? What limitations or sins hold you up? What does God have you reflecting on this week?

1. What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s message
2. Did you know that Moses was a murderer and a fugitive from the law? If not, how do you react?
3. Does Moses’s past nullify his present ability to serve God? Consider a contemporary context: You are on the hiring committee at your church, and a candidate applies who spent time in prison for murder. In prison the person met Jesus, repented, and was saved, and now feels called to pastoral ministry. What do you do? How would you assess whether this person has truly been reformed?
4. What about this passage surprised you?
5. How important is the personal name of God to your faith?
6. How can we encourage and pray for each other as we live into God's ways this week?
