· The word translated Lord is the Hebrew word Adonai
· Adonai reflects a master/servant relationship
· Adonai implies ownership, but the focus is more on the working relationship between master/servant
· The master/servant relationship begins with the master and his responsibilities to his servant
· The servant is responsible to faithfully do what they are asked to do
The Story: God’s Covenant with Abram – Genesis 15
· The story of Abram starts with God calling him away from his home and family when he is 75 years old – Genesis 12
· The Lord promised Abram 3 things: a land; a nation, a blessing
· Abram travels to the land God promised him, but encounters hardship, not the promises he was anticipating
· God appears to Abram again and reiterates His promises to him – Genesis 15
· Adonai gives Abram the sign he needs – the sign of an unconditional covenant – Genesis 15:9-17

· As Adonai, He will provide the basics of what your heart needs
