The Politically Incorrect Jesus

The Politically Incorrect Jesus
Vision...Seeing as God Sees

Proverbs 29:18

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (KJV)

Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, but happy is he who keeps the law. (NASV)

Where there is no vision (revelation), the people cast off restraint, but happy is he who keeps the law. (NIV)
Vision: exceptional ability to know or believe what should happen or be done in the future = Mission Statement
Mission Statement…
As Christians we endeavor to glorify God by loving Him with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength (Mark 12:30). Our purpose as the family of God is to love, encourage and build one another up in the faith and to share in the partnership of the Gospel to bring salvation for all men (Philippians 1:5).
Mission Statement…As Christians we endeavor to bring honor and glory to God by becoming more like Jesus day by day. We strive to put God first in our lives. Our purpose is to encourage, build up and extend God’s family. We are a family that cares, shares, and declares.
Whatever our vision or mission statement is, MUST be in total harmony with God’s vision/mission
Nehemiah
I. Acknowledge The Current Situation
Trouble

Disgrace

Walls Broken Down

Gates burned
What is our current situation, church?
II. Acknowledge One’s Responsibility To The Current Situation
What caused Jerusalem to be in this state?
Deuteronomy 28-30
Jeremiah prophesied these 70 years
How have we contributed to the current state of this church?
III. Acknowledge God’s Supremacy & Ability
Nehemiah knew that God knew the current state was not where He wanted Jerusalem to be.
Church, we know that God knows the current state of the church is not where He wants us to be.
What vision do we need to bring us to where God wants us to be?
Vision…
Seeing As God Sees
