Jesus told us there would be times like these
When disaster strikes, whether close to us or internationally, each one of us has the ability to contribute to the relief effort. Prayer can make power available for those in need.
These are 5 ways some of the resources from heaven can be released when we pray:
Expand
1. Prayer Enables Divine Positioning.

We can pray that God directs people through His Spirit to be at the right place at the right time for relief and protection.

Psalm 37:23-24 NKJV
Romans 8:14 NKJV

When disaster strikes, timing can be critical: the timing of a rescue, or medical assistance, or food and water. We can pray for God to position and protect people and resources, as they are needed.

2. Prayer Releases Angelic Assistance.

When we pray, angels are released to help those for whom we are praying. Amongst the many things angels can do, they are able to bring guidance, supernatural protection and comfort.

Psalm 103:20a NKJV (They're strong)

Excel- exceeding strong, powerful, warrior.
Strength- force, capacity, ability to produce.

Hebrews 13:1-2 NKJV (Appear as people)
Hebrews 1:13-14 NKJV (Their job is to serve you)

3. Prayer Releases Supernatural Wisdom.

We can pray for Godly wisdom and skill to be given to those in Government, leaders of relief organizations, first responders, and others who are involved in practical ways, such as medical assistance.

James 1:2-8 NKJV

4. Prayer Moves Hearts to Give

Through prayer, the Holy Spirit is released to move upon people’s hearts to do 3 things:

1. Pray
2. Give
3. Go

James 2:14-18 NKJV

5. Prayer Empowers the Gospel

We can pray that the way is prepared for the Gospel to be released, and God’s word of love and comfort to be shared with those in need.

Matthew 9:36-38 NKJV
1 Timothy 2:1-4 NKJV

With our hands, we can give. With our mouths, we can pray. Let’s join together now in a few moments of prayer for those who have been affected by these natural disasters, as well as those who are involved in the relief efforts. And let’s also be reminded of the power of prayer that is available to us when times of trial or disaster occur.
