Hickory Valley Community Church
God Is Always Victorious
If you pinpoint what’s difficult about going through a tough time, it's the "not knowing". The biggest reason we fear and doubt, despair and falter, is that we don’t know how it's all going to end. But the last of the promises we are going to study in this series, "Promises That Make All The Difference", addresses our lack of knowledge. God's promise is that He is always victorious; therefore I will not fail. He promised in Isaiah 54:17: "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgement, you shall condemn...." What an amazing promise!

The word prosper gives us hope. The English Standard Version uses the word succeed. The New International Version says prevail. No weapon will be final. Even if it looks like it's prospering; it's not done yet. It may win the battle, but it won’t win the war. God takes it very seriously when someone opposes or attacks the ones He loves.
God always wins! God will crush Satan under your feet. Think of every battle and struggle you have endured that was prompted by the enemy of your soul. Every temptation that clawed at you, every painful attack on your body and in spirit, all brought on by Satan, and your foot will rise up and crush him. God will make it so.
The Lord gave me all the promises He has sworn to give. And I am claiming the promises that God has given me. I claim the promise that God is always with me, so I don't have to be afraid. I claim the promise that God is always in control, so I will not doubt. I claim the promise that God is always good, so I will not despair. I claim the promise that God is always watching me, so I will not falter. I claim the promise that God is always victorious, so I will not fail. In Jesus's name, Amen.

It is said there are 7,487 promises in the Bible. Some are specifically given for a specific time, for a specific person, for a specific reason. But there are five promises God makes over and over, to every person of faith, in every generation. When we make these truths our own, they become intensely personal, incredibly practical, and profoundly reliable. Join us on Sundays, beginning April 3 through May 1, as we look at Promises That Make All The Difference..
