Have you ever bought something where the final cost was higher than you originally thought it would be? What was it, and how did the difference in cost make you feel?
Have you ever bought something where the final cost was higher than you originally thought it would be? What was it, and how did the difference in cost make you feel?
If you reflect on your schedule, your purchases, and your choices over the past 6 months, what would you say is your top priority? What brings you to that conclusion?
In the parable of the person building a tower, Jesus tells us to seriously consider the cost of following Him. If you are a follower of Jesus, what has following Him cost you recently? If you are not yet a follower of Jesus, what do you understand the cost of following Him to be?
The parable of the King choosing to go to war or not demonstrates the total commitment necessary to follow Jesus. Which areas of your life are easier to surrender, and which are harder? What area might Jesus be asking you to surrender next?
What does it looks like when followers of Jesus take up His invitation to ‘carry their cross and follow me”? What will it look like for you next week?
