It is a gift of God that allows you to settle into all God created you to be BEFORE committing to a covenant with someone else. It is vital to any future successful marriage that you allow God to truly make you single while being unmarried.
Alone- isolated, needy, abandoned, unmatched, unaided.
Single- consisting of one part, aspect or section, not divided; unbroken; separate from others; complete; individual and distinct; honest and undisguised.
A. MISCONCEPTIONS
Expand1. Marriage does not make everything alright.
2. Marriage does not complete, cure feelings of loneliness, frustration and worry, or provide financial security.
3. Does not fulfill dreams and expectations.
4. Disappointment and resentment will arise if that's what one is expecting out of marriage. This can lead to marital problems, separation, then divorce.
TRUTH
THERE IS NOT A PERSON ON EARTH THAT CAN COMPLETE YOU BUT JESUS!
MYTHS
Expand1. "God chose this person for me." God doesn't choose spouses. He gives us boundaries or guidelines by which we should pick our mates, but He doesn't choose. He only confirms. Notice "He who finds..."
Proverbs 18:22 NKJV
[22] He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD.
2. Opposites attract, but not for long if there's nothing in common. Genesis 2:18 "....... I will make him a helper comparable to him."
3. There should be some commonalities between 2 people.
4. Bible gives us boundaries.
1 Corinthians 6:12-20 MSG;
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 MSG;
2 Corinthians 7:1 MSG
Yoke- something that couples or binds together; a bond or tie that has to do with the belief system.

[3] Do two walk together except they make an appointment and have agreed?
D. DATING, THERE'S AN APP FOR THAT. They must be born again with fruit. 5 G's:
Expand1. Glorify- worship, surrender, holiness, tithe, obedience.
2. Grow- personal study, systematic class teaching, devotion life, church attendance. Values what God values.
3. Give- using their gifts to serve God and others, Dream Team, Small Groups etc.
4. Gain- friends are other believers that they spend quality time with. They are who they hang around.
5. Go- concerned about souls, within and without the church.
E. IT'S HIS RESPONSIBILITY TO PURSUE.

[22] He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD.
1. Men are to pursue. Can't be afraid of rejection. If your truly single, your attitude should be "her loss." And vise versa, if he pursues and decides you're not the right one, God has better for you.
2. Ladies, if you are interested, give the fellas some indication that you are. Give him a green light by your interaction, response, and efforts. If you're not, be kind.
3. Men choose, women decide. Men offer, women accept or deny.
F. WHEN WILL I KNOW IT'S THE RIGHT TIME?
ExpandJeremiah 29:4-6 NKJV
FELLAS:
1. Have your own place and transportation. Do you!
2. Should have furniture and be livable. Can pay all bills with no assistance.
3. Should have career, occupation or job to sustain all of the above.
4. Enjoy a season of singleness. Bills paid, no credit card debt, 3-6 months savings in the bank, been on the job for a year. Figure you out first.
5. Don't date or marry until you've gone through this process of development. Okay to have friends.
6. Plan for children after you've proven you can take care of you and your wife.
7. If you can't do this for you, in most cases you'll will never do this for your family.
LADIES, ALLOW HIM TO DEVELOP WHILE AT THE SAME TIME DEVELOPING YOURSELF SPIRITUALLY, INTELLECTUALLY, PHYSICALLY, PURPOSE, DOMESTICALLY ETC.
There's a right and a wrong way to do everything. Be determined by faith to do things God's way, His grace will make it easy and reward you.
