What do you do when you are faced with uncertainty, or fear, or without hope? When you think about what surrounds you, you feel like there is no way out of this situation. You don’t see a solution and maybe you feel stuck and can’t see a way forward. The circumstances around you are mostly out of your control. You can try a few things to fix the problem or stall the inevitable, but it’s mostly out of your hands. When you can't see a way out, facing uncertainty about the future, and all hope seems lost that might be your story at times…but it also seems to be the story of Dunkirk. And it is in those times that we can still find hope. God comes to us and brings us the hope, comfort, and strength we need.

(4) While David was being chased down by the king who was trying to kill him, he wrote these Psalms. As you read them, what is the hope that David found and what hope can that bring us as well? Psalm 10:14 & 17-18; Psalm 17:13-14; Psalm 27:1-3.

(5) Read the following verses. As you read, make a list of how God can bring you hope, strength, comfort, or courage. Joshua 1:9, Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 40:31, Isaiah 41:10, Matthew 11:29, John 3:16, Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Peter 5:7.

(6) How can you let others help you and be there for you when you face fear and uncertainty? Do you have some one like this in your life?

(7) How can you be more aware of others to learn what they feel surrounded by and how they struggle? How can you let God work through you to bring hope to others?

God, we all have times in our lives where we face uncertainty, fear, or aren't sure about what is ahead. We feel trapped sometimes and even like life is a bit out of our control. You know this. Help us to not go it alone, but to let you come to us with your Words to bring us strength, comfort, and guidance. Help us to really believe that you are the one to put our hope in. Thank you that you promise to always be there for us and never leave us alone. Amen.
