Disrupted by Jesus

Disrupted by Jesus

Who are we called to be as followers of Jesus in these present circumstances? In the call for racial justice and the social/economic impact of the pandemic, who guides our hearts, purifies our words and empowers our actions to be people of God's light and love?

Locations & Times

Puyallup Nazarene Church

Jesus disrupts...and restores!
God is a communicating, speaking, presently working God, inviting us and involving us for breakthroughs of his love into the people around us.
To be Spirit-filled followers of Jesus means radical obedience and self-abandoned love for all others.
The disciples of Jesus continue the presence of the character of Jesus as the ultimate sign of hope for our broken world.
The invitation to turn THIS way. Become a follower of the Way.
Discussion and Application Questions for Group Life Communities
We invite you to use the following questions as you dig deeper into this story from Acts.

Read Acts 9:1-19

Have you ever met someone famous? Were you nervous, fearful, excited, bored?

Observation (be curious, imagine yourself in the story)

-Who are the key characters in the story? Imagine the story from their points of view.

-What was Saul’s mission? How did it change? What was God’s plan for Saul?

-What are the risks for Christ followers described in the passage? How would you describe the climate of being a Christ follower?

-What other observations come to mind from the passage?

Interpretation (uncover the 'why' behind the story, why are certain details included?)

-The story of Paul’s conversion is told three times in the book of Acts- (Chap 9, 22:7-10, 26:14-16). Why do you think the story was repeated?

-What is the significance of the Lord’s direct conversation with Saul?

-Why does the Lord single out Ananias? Why is he necessary in the conversion experience?

-In what ways are believers called to step out of their comfort zones to help Saul?

Application (connect the message to your personal life. What is God trying to say to me through this passage?)

-Tell your conversion story.

-What is God’s plan for your life? How would you help someone find their God given purpose?

-How have you been used by God to introduce someone to Jesus?

-What do you need from the Holy Spirit to live with boldness this week?
