THE SIXTH SENSE
Galatians 5:6 NIV
For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is faith, expressed through love.
Hebrews 11:1 HCSB
Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.
Habakkuk 2:4 NASB
"Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous will live by his faith.
The reason I am call faith the sixth sense is because I believe every person according to the scriptures has a capacity for faith.
5 senses: taste, touch, hearing, smelling, seeing
The believer has one more sense to live by: FAITH
It’s living not just from information but also living by revelation.
Romans 12:3 B
God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Romans 10:17 WBT
So then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
OUR FAITH IS EXPANDED & ENLARGED BY HEARING GOD’S WORD
ABRAHAM IS KNOWN AS THE FATHER OF FAITH
ABRAHAM’S EXAMPLE OF FAITH:
Hebrews 11:8-9 NKJV
8 By faith Abrahamobeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going
THE SIXTH SENSE SOMETIMES MAKES NO SENSE!
The obedience of Abraham was a physical act in response to the word of God.
A physical response is required to activate faith.
It’s like the electric in the home requires something being plugged in to the outlet that has electric power.
When Faith is activated it is like plugging in to God’s power source.
Another Example of Abraham’s faith was when it had to do with his future legacy and having children.
Romans 4:17-21 LB
17 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say that God made Abraham the father of many nations. God will accept all people in every nation who trust God as Abraham did. And this promise is from God himself, who makes the dead live again and speaks of future events with as much certainty as though they were already past. 18 So, when God told Abraham that he would give him a son who would have many descendants and become a great nation, Abraham believed God even though such a promise just couldn’t come to pass! 19 And because his faith was strong, he didn’t worry about the fact that he was too old to be a father at the age of one hundred, and that Sarah his wife, at ninety, was also much too old to have a baby. 20 But Abraham never doubted. He believed God, for his faith and trust grew ever stronger, and he praised God for this blessing even before it happened.21 He was completely sure that God was well able to do anything he promised.
Abraham praised God before the blessing manifested.
His praise was based on Faith in God’s spoken promise.
Abraham believed God with the sixth sense to do what his physical senses could not perform.
Prayer is one way to activate your faith.(the sixth sense)
Mark 11:22, 24
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.
24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
James 1:6-7 NKJV
…………ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
John 4:46-53 NKJV
46 So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. 48 Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”49 The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!” 50 Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. 51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!” 52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” 53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” And he himself believed, and his whole household.
The same hour the man believed what was spoken by Jesus, the sixth sense of faith activated the power to heal this man’s child.
Living by faith is living free from the lids or limitation.
Matthew 17:20 NKJV
20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief;for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Ephesians 3:20 NIV
20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief: for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Next week I will talk about the specific lids and limitations that hinder you walking in greatness God has made available for you.
Today I want you to anchor and plug into faith through the Word of Revelation.
I want you to live not just by information (5 senses).
Don’t let your 5 senses lid or limit the possibilities God’s revelation and Word has made available.
Isaiah 55:11 NKJV
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
External change is preceded by internal change.
The external world was created by the Word that was released and spoken from God’s mouth.
External realities are what Jesus changed every time someone plugged in to Jesus with their Faith.
Faith has got to become first nature to you. It shouldn’t be the last resort.
Matthew 14:25-33 NKJV
25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those who were in the boat came andworshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”
Peter walked on water in response to Jesus word.
Peter only began to sink when with his senses he saw the blowing wind and high waves.
Peter used the sixth sense of faith to walk on the water.
Is God calling you to get out of the boat with the majority and live the life of the few?
Romans 10:8-13 NKJV
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
