1. Declare WAR on sin. (5-9)

v. 5-6 “Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming.”

Romans 6:6 “We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.”

2. Clothe yourself in the GOSPEL. (9-14)

v. 9-10 “Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.”

Genesis 1:27“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

Romans 8:29 “For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son…”

3. FUEL your faith. (15-17)

v.15-17 “And let the peace of Christrule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christdwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

2 Corinthians 3:16“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”

Romans 12:2“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
