Exodus 14:10-16
When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord. 11 They said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Is not this what we said to you in Egypt: ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” 13 And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” 15 The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.16 Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground."
The line between wait and go has as much to do with the condition of our hearts as the details of our circumstances.
Red Sea Rule #6 - When God says go, we must follow Him forward.
We must learn to hear and listen to the voice of God.
It proves you are a child of God.
John 8:47
"Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”
John 10:27
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."
It protects you from making mistakes.
Psalm 25:15
My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.
It will lead you to true success in life.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
God primarily speaks to us through His Word.
God never contradicts His Word.
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
The #1 tool God uses to move us towards righteousness is His Word.
Our main business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what lies clearly at hand.
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
We must respond by submitting to His guidance.
Submission leads to direction.
The Holy Spirit, who indwells us, lights the Word that has been given to us.
Philippians 3:13
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.
