1 Peter 4:1-11 ESV
Peter gives us a list of reasons/practices that will cause the Gospel to rise above the intellect of this world.
· Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh
· For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do
· Be self-controlled and sober-minded
· Keep loving one another earnestly
· Show hospitality to one another
· Serve one another
· In order that in everything God may be glorified
That time is gone, it’s in the past for doing what the gentiles do.
The world will be surprised when you do not join in the futility of their thinking.

Being a Biblical man can be overwhelming
· Sacrificing self daily
· Working hard to provide – going to bed exhausted.
· Carrying the responsibility to ensure the flourishing of your family and church.
Being a Biblical woman is intimidating
· Submitting to headship – role does not define dignity or value.
· Dealing with boys who should be men – being susceptible to abuse.
· Rejecting the standard of perfection
My hope is that in our roles as men and women, we will find that God’s grace is sufficient when our flesh is weak.
