When we get married:
We can accept the challenge of a successful marriage.
We can apply the knowledge needed to have a great marriage
relationship.
We can commit to investing love in marriage that we may know
greater depth in love.
And the same thing is true in our relationship with Christ.
We can embrace the challenge of living a new life with Christ.
We can apply the knowledge of God’s word that is needed for a
great relationship with the Lord.
We can continually invest our love in Him that we might experience
the depth of His love for us.
God wants a love relationship with us, not a religion offered to Him. Just think of it, God wants a relationship with us! One that will grow in knowledge of Him and grow in love.

When our desire is to actively pursue that love relationship with God we begin to experience the heart of God’s desire for us.
But like any marriage relationship, we must continually pursue the depth of that relationship.
This morning’s message may appear to be about pursuing a rich marriage relationship, but it’s actually about having an unlimited love relationship with God! We know that God’s love for us cannot be measured.

Unfortunately, many Christians limit the experience and perfect love of God in their lives. We first met Jesus Christ, when we received Him as our Savior. We were excited about our new relationship and desired to know more and more about Him. This is exactly what the Lord desired, as well. The Lord loves us beyond measure and has so much that He wants to talk to us about and things He wants to share with us.
The most exciting thing to God is our love relationship with Him, for creation, redemption and hope were set in place for us and for His Glory!
But do we limit receiving God’s love and insight in to our lives?
Do we begin to allow our first excitement and love for God,
to be superseded by our priorities & life circumstances?
Do we allow these things to interfere with our love
relationship with God?
Does our love relationship with Christ wane in time like many
love relationships in marriage?
When we focus on other things and not God we create a problem for ourselves that limits God in our lives. Look at Deuteronomy 30:17.

Each of us must decide how closely we want to walk with God. Years ago, I read a book entitled “Living Above the Level of Mediocrity” by Charles Swindoll. The title intrigued me, because I did not want to live a mediocre life with Christ. I wanted to live an extraordinary life with Him! The key is to resolve to grow deeper spiritually. The more our love deepens for God the more we’ll hear from Him. That’s why I believe many Christians cannot clearly identify God’s voice when He speaks with them, because it involves the level of their love for God.
Jesus taught His disciples many things, but there was a point where He could not teach them anymore. Turn to John 16:12.

There is a fundamental scriptural principle found in this verse:
God will not reveal more truth to you than you are capable of receiving.
God will not reveal more truth to you than you are capable of receiving.
A shallow walk with Christ limits our capability for spiritual maturity. We cannot expect to receive deeper revelations from God without continuing to grow closer to Him through our spiritual walk.
We can become spiritually dull and sluggish. We can remain babes in Christ living Carnal lives. Or we can put away childish things and grow in spiritual maturity. Let’s look at this in Hebrews 5: 13 – 14a.

Putting this in perspective today…we see more desire for lightweight sermonettes and simple one point devotions. The mature in Christ hunger for the deeper truth of God and His Word. God will continue to talk with you about the deeper matter’s of His heart, because of your growing love for Him. For example: We share our deepest thoughts and desires with those who love us deeply. The same is true with God. To have the ability to mature and unlimit God in our lives, we must be in His Word, in prayer and in attending group Bible studies, corporate Worship, and hearing the preaching of God’s Word. All these avenues will give us greater opportunity for God to illuminate His Word to us!
You can never exhaust the supply of God’s revelations and promises. The love relationship God desires with us is limitless and inexhaustible. This is the truth that He has told us! Listen to what the Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 3:8.

There are unlimited layers of truth for us to discover. The natural response of Christians should be to plunge into their Bible’s pages with hunger. God wants every Christian to experience the deeper truths of His Word and have a deeper relationship with Him. Every believer needs to recognize that they cannot receive the deeper things of God unless they’re willing to receive the basic principles of Biblical truth into their lives.
The Holy Spirit knows when we’re able to receive what the Father wants us to know. Turn with me back to John 16: 12 – 13.

The Holy Spirit would enable the disciples to grow by sharing as much of God’s Word with them as they were prepared to receive.
Richard Blackaby states:
“Believers ought to steadily mature in their faith so they’re able to receive deeper and deeper words from God.”
“Believers ought to steadily mature in their faith so they’re able to receive deeper and deeper words from God.”
So the question before each of us today is…
Do you want to unlimit God in your life and receive more profound truths from God?
If you do, then listen carefully, God may be giving you instructions through this message or through His Spirit directly this morning. Obey whatever He tells you and be in His word daily, pray frequently and attend Bible Studies and Worship Services regularly.
