INDEPENDENCE IN OUR CULTURE
“I can handle it ON MY OWN."
“I am my own AUTHORITY.”

Jesus calls His followers to live IN DEPENDENCE on God.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” - Matthew 5:3
(Jesus) “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name, 10your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11Give us today our daily bread. 12And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’” - Matthew 6:9-13

1) Put God FIRST.
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

2) Trust in God’s PROVISION.
Give us today our daily bread. - Matthew 6:11
7 Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you… 11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him. - Matthew 7:7, 11

3) Depend on God’s GRACE.
