Have you ever been driving somewhere and you had a destination, but along the way you got lost? You ended up somewhere and wondered, “How did I get here?” We can also lose our way sometimes in life. We can lose focus of what really matters or can feel lost in life or our relationship with God. In Luke 15 there is a parable about two sons that had pride which caused them to lose their way. But one of them turns from pride to humility and found his way back. Humility can help us when we feel lost, and leads us back to a restored relationship with God and others.

(1) Describe a time when you were driving and you got lost.

(2) Read the parable that Jesus told in Luke 15:11-32. Which brother do you tend to be like?

(3) Do you know anyone else that tends to be like one or the other?

(4) How did they each of the brothers lose their way, but in different ways?

(5) How were they both prideful?

(6) The younger brother turns from pride to humility. How can humility lead us to restoring relationship with others and God?

(7) Read James 4:10. What do you think it means to do this?

(8) In what area of life do you need to be more humble?
