OPENING HYMN
“Come unto Me, Ye Weary”…………………………LSB 684
1 “Come unto Me, ye weary,
And I will give you rest.”
O blessèd voice of Jesus,
Which comes to hearts oppressed!
It tells of benediction,
Of pardon, grace, and peace,
Of joy that hath no ending,
Of love that cannot cease.

2 “Come unto Me, ye wand’rers,
And I will give you light.”
O loving voice of Jesus,
Which comes to cheer the night!
Our hearts were filled with sadness,
And we had lost our way;
But Thou hast brought us gladness
And songs at break of day.
THE INVOCATION:
P: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen

CONFESSION AND ABSOLUTION
P: Let us cast the burdens of our sins and the weariness of our souls upon the Lord who brings relief and rest. Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things, Judge of all people, we admit and confess our sinfulness. We have often turned away from You in our thinking, speaking and doing. We have done those things which we ought not to have done and we have too often failed to do what we ought to have done. We do repent and are truly sorry for all our sins know and unknown, remembered and forgotten.
C: Have mercy upon us, Holy Father, because of the obedience of Jesus Christ, Your son and our Savior. Amen.
P: The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. By His sacrifice on the cross our sins are fully and freely forgiven. May He keep you in His grace by the Holy Spirit, lead you to greater faith and obedience, and bring you to live with Him forever through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
C: Amen.

THE PSALM FOR THE DAY: Psalm 145
Pastor: The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
People: slow to anger and rich in love.

Pastor: The Lord is good to all;
People: he has compassion on all he has made.

Pastor: The Lord upholds all those who fall
People: and lifts up all who are bowed down.

Pastor: the eyes of all look to you,
People: and you give them their food at the proper time.

Pastor: You open your hand
People: and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

Pastor: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
People: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

PRAYER OF THE DAY
P: Gracious God, our heavenly Father, Your mercy attends us all our days. Be our strength and support amid the wearisome changes of this world, and at life’s end, grant us Your promised rest and full joys of Your salvation. We pray this through Jesus our Savior.
C: Amen.

THE GOSPEL LESSON…………………………………….Matthew 11:25-30
25At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; 26yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. 27All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

NICENE CREED
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, Being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary And was made man; And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried; And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures; And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead; whose kingdom will have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, The Lord and giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the Prophets. And I believe one holy Christian and Apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead; and the life of the world to come. Amen.
“Come unto Me, Ye Weary”……………...……LSB 684
3 “Come unto Me, ye fainting,
And I will give you life.”
O cheering voice of Jesus,
Which comes to aid our strife!
The foe is stern and eager,
The fight is fierce and long;
But Thou hast made us mighty
And stronger than the strong.
4 “And whosoever cometh,
I will not cast him out.”
O patient love of Jesus,
Which drives away our doubt,
Which, though we be unworthy
Of love so great and free,
Invites us very sinners
To come, dear Lord, to Thee!!

Prayers/Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

BENEDICTION
CLOSING HYMN
“God Bless Our Native Land”………………….LSB 965
God bless our native land;
Firm may she ever stand
Through storm and night.
When the wild tempests rave,
Ruler of wind and wave,
Do Thou our country save
By Thy great might.

So shall our prayers arise
To God above the skies;
On Him we wait.
Thou who art ever nigh,
Guarding with watchful eye,
To Thee aloud we cry:
God save the state!
