Humans hate to wait.

Exodus 14:10-14

When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord. 11 They said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Is not this what we said to you in Egypt: ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” 13 And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

We are microwave people who serve a crockpot God.

Red Sea Rule #5 = God works for those who wait on Him.

Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

When God makes us wait, He’s often working on us before He works out our situation.

Patience is a sign of maturity.

Requirement #1 = Faith/Trust

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Requirement #2 = Patience

Psalm 37:7-8

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! 8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.

Requirement #3 = Courage

Joshua 1:9

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Delay does not mean denial.

Requirement #4 = Determination

1 Corinthians 16:13

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

Daniel 3:18

"But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

Requirement #5 = Endurance

Hebrews 10:36

For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.

Isaiah 64:1-4

Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at your presence—2 as when fire kindles brushwood and the fire causes water to boil— to make your name known to your adversaries, and that the nations might tremble at your presence! 3 When you did awesome things that we did not look for, you came down, the mountains quaked at your presence. 4 From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him.

Christianity alone teaches that God came to work for us.

Acts 17:25

[…] nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.
