The passage thus far, culminates in the ultimate sign of Christ's compassion.
Jesus speaks to the various people in this account, giving to each of them only what they need in that moment.
'The Word of God has the ability to give life and to take it away.'

Just think about that for a moment.

Do you agree or disagree with that statement?
Do we view the Bible as a means to show God's love, compassion, grace and forgiveness?

Or as a rule book that is not followed precisely will bring about our condemnation?

You may want to explore your thinking around this and how we view certain aspects of church.
A stone as we saw last week has the ability to take life.

Or to be used as a means to remind us of God's provision, love, compassion, grace and forgiveness - A marker for others to see life and hope!
"You can change your world by changing your words... Remember, death and life are in the power of the tongue." (Joel Osteen)
"With the tongue we can give thanks to our Father in heaven. And with our tongue we can speak bad words against the very men and women who are made like God." James 3:9 (New Life Version)
Our words and actions need to be outward signs of God's grace at work in us!
We need to show up in the lives of others, especially our brothers and sisters in Christ.
God chooses to get His work done here on earth through you and me when we show up in the lives of others to bring about a miracle.
God wants to be able to use us for His purposes. He wants to perform miraculous things through us and has created a way in which we can effect change in the lives of others, through His power at work in us.

He longs for us to be bringing "Life and Hope", through His guidance in our own lives.
Compassion and care need to be a part of who we are as they are key aspects of God's grace at work in us.
As Christians if we are to love people as Jesus loves them we need to be extremely careful how we talk to people and 'show up' in their lives, showing compassion and care.
Doing Life Together is all about doing what we can to help, support, challenge and encourage one another.

Doing Life Together can have a positive impact for everybody as it helps to spread the load and share the work of the Kingdom, so that it is not left to a few people to love the people of the congregation and the city.
hey
