James 2:14-26 NKJV
Can a man have faith and not do good works?
Faith is General and Specific
• General – Spiritual Disciplines (Prayer, Study, Purity, Giving, etc.)
• Specific – Requires actions unique to you as a person, not everyone is asked to do the same thing
Catagories/Levels of Faith
• Our level of belief determines the extent of our actions & trust
• These works bring justification of our True Faith – Faith cannot be real until it is proven!
Basic Faith – seeing a need and filling it – James 2:14-17
• Care for the ones we are connected with – Physically & Spiritually
• Matthew 25:41-46– Reaching those outside of our connection circle.
• Matthew 19:21-22 – Perfect giver!
Faith that alters Lifestyle – James 2:25 & Joshua 2:9-11
• Rahab’s belief caused her to abandon the practices and principles she had lived by before this encounter
Righteous Faith – James 2:21-24
• Extreme Obedience that reveals established beliefs
• Genesis 15:6 – spoken 30 years before God directed him to offer up Issac
• Elevation in the eyes of man is the purpose – Father of Nations Genesis 22:16-19
