The story of Jairus and the woman with a flow of blood are two accounts of faith that should be very important to us. We must walk by faith. We need the faith that both Jairus and this unknown sick woman had. So, let's take a special note of the kind of faith that saves.
Mark 5:21-43 NASB1995
I. Genuine Faith Regards Jesus as the Only Hope
A. Faith is a popular subject these days.
B. Faith must be in the proper object. It must be based in truth.
C. Miracle Day was about faith in Jesus.
D. Where is your faith?
II. Genuine Faith Results in Action
A. Faith is only known by our actions.
B. We are saved by grace, through faith, at baptism, for good works.
C. Miracle Day is/was an opportunity to exercise your faith.
III. Genuine Faith Overcomes Obstacles
A. God never promises that if you have faith you will have smooth sailing.
B. Obstacles Jairus had to overcome:
1. Public opinion.
2. Delay.
C. Obstacles the woman had to overcome:
1. Her sickness.
2. The crowd.
D. What obstacles are in your life that keep you from exercising faith?
E. Obstacles to Miracle Day: We need to exercise our faith.
So, for Jairus and this unknown woman, they possessed a faith that saves. The same is true for us. Will you take the challenge and possess a faith that saves?
