Discussion and Application Questions for Group Life Communities

Read Acts 2.41-47
Have you ever been a part of a team or a common interest group? What are the positive or negative experiences of being in that group?
Observation: (be curious, imagine yourself in the story)
-Who were the 3000 that accepted the message on Pentecost?
-What are the four areas of discipleship that the community practiced?
-Who are the apostles?
-What signs and wonders did the people observe and experience?
Interpretation: (uncover the 'why' behind the story, why are certain details included)
-Why do you think people made material equity an important part of their common life? (v 44-45)
-Why did the people continue to go to the temple and also meet together in homes?
-In what ways does the community life expressed in this passage relate to how we should function as a church?
-How does love for God and love for others connect together ?
Application: (connect the message to your personal life)
-What do you need that your Group life can give to you?
-Which of the four discipleship practices noted in v. 42 would you like to apply to your life this week?
-In what ways has God been generous to you? How can you be more generous to those around me who are in need?
