1: Marriage is an economic partnership.
2: Marriage is a parenting partnership.
Marriage is a permanent and exclusive legally-binding public promise to share your entire life with someone else.
Marriage is more important and should take priority over ANY OTHER RELATIONSHIP.
Marriage is a friendship.
Deep oneness or friendship comes from uniting in a common mission.
Every marriage needs to have a temporary mission that changes and an eternal mission that stays the same.
Ephesians 5:26-27 ESV
A healthy joy-filled marriage looks into the spouse and sees what they can become in Christ and then works toward that goal.
Your job is to help your spouse become everything they are supposed to be in Christ.
1: Have regular family meetings.
2: Go on date nights and weekend trips together.
3: Put those things on your calendar.
When marriage is a friendship, you continuously become more conformed into the image of Christ, and you can navigate any circumstances from a place of strength.
