2017 Helicopter Egg Drop
This year’s Helicopter Egg Drop is Saturday, April 8! There are many ways you can help.
Volunteer: by signing up at the kiosk by the fireplace or on The River App. There are many areas where you can serve from baking cupcakes to face painting, first impressions, parking, and more! Sign up online at https://hittheriver.churchcenteronline.com/registrations/events/55759
Fill eggs with candy: take home pre-bagged empty eggs and fill with candy. We have over 4,000 eggs to fill for the children. Filled eggs should be returned by April 2. Bags are available next to the Guest Center.
Invite: your River 5, family, friends and neighbors by using our special Egg-vitations! Each Egg-vitation kit contains 5 invitations to the Egg Drop. Pick up your Egg-vitations next to the fireplace.
Men’s Softball
Men, softball season is starting up soon. All games are on Tuesday evenings at the Mason Sports Park. To sign up, fill out a connection card (just write "men's softball") or sign up at a kiosk, on The River App, online at https://hittheriver.churchcenteronline.com/registrations/events/58380.
Interfaith Hospitality
We have a great opportunity for someone to serve as our Interfaith Hospitality lead volunteer. The River Church teams with Our Lady of Sorrow Church in Monroe four times a year to serve five homeless families in the Interfaith system.
The commitment involves providing and serving an Italian meal on Friday night, hanging out with the families in the evening, staying overnight at Our Lady of Sorrows in Monroe, and serving a hot breakfast in the morning before the families go back to the Day Center on Saturday morning. We get there by 5:00pm on Friday to serve dinner and are done by 9:00am on Saturday morning, and it's only a quarterly commitment. Discerning the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer helps you know if what you hear is from God. Through this practical study you will become more familiar with God’s Holy Spirit, His character, His language, and the tone of His voice.

Cone Gift Card - Fundraiser
The Guatemala mission trip team is selling The Cone gift cards again! If you buy a $20 gift card then we get $10 applied to our trip. A $20 gift card buys $20 worth of ice cream! Amy Frazee will be over by the mission wall today or you can buy from any team member. Please remember that all mission trips (Haiti and Guatemala) are 100% funded by donations. Easter Choir
Do you love to worship and make a joyful noise? Are you gifted vocally? We are always looking for people to join us in singing with the Easter Sunday choir! We will have two rehearsals, Monday April 3rd at 7:00pm and Saturday, April 15th at 11:00am. The Chosen Ministry - Serve City
Rick and Teresa Brand coordinate The Chosen Ministry that cooks meals once a month for residents of Serve City. They are in need of 1-2 people who can commit to serving every month. Due to scheduling, it’s best to have individual commitments, not a commitment from a community group. Contact Rick and Teresa at rtbrand@roadrunner.com to volunteer or for more information.
• Serve first Friday of every month
• Serving food for 30-45 people
• Prefer to serve items prepared from scratch (i.e. not pizza or canned soups). The ideal person would have some culinary skill. No need to be a chef, but being able to assemble a meal is important.
• Monthly commitment is to plan the meal; buy items; cook/prepare on a Thursday; serve on Friday at 6:00pm (arrive at 5:00pm to prep and done by 6:45pm)
• Cost of buying and prepping the meal is split between Teresa/Rick and other partner(s).
Volunteers Needed
