…and you can’t think of a reason to praise Him, there is something wrong with your spiritual outlook.


I heard in my spirit, “You can REFRESH YOUR SOUL BY LIVING THANKFULLY.”

I “THANKSGIVING HAS GREAT POWER TO BRING JOY TO OUR SOULS AND BREAK THE POWER OF THE ENEMY.”(Debbie Przybylski)

1 Satan is the enemy of our souls. 


Soul – psuche – breath of life – the part of us that makes us alive, seat of our feelings, the part of us that is designed for eternal life, not dissolved by death.

2. So it makes sense why the enemy would focus himself against our soul.

a.) “The devil is the DJ who chooses the soundtrack this world lives by.”

b.) When you’re born again you get a new song! It’s a 
SONG OF JOY. And JOY FLOWS MOST FREELY FROM A THANKFUL HEART!

c.) The antidote for discontentment is
 a shot of JOY.

II. BE JOYFUL ALWAYS, PRAY CONTINUALLY, GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, FOR THIS IS GOD’S WILL FOR YOU IN CHRIST JESUS. (1 Thessalonians 2:16-18)

things feel better than receiving heartfelt praise and appreciation from someone else. God loves it too…An amazing thing happens when we offer praise and thanksgiving to God. When we give God enjoyment, our own hearts are filled with joy.” – Rick Warren

1. Giving thanks brings contentment.

a) Contentment can be learned. “I have LEARNED to be content 


whatever the circumstances.” (Philippians 4:11)

b) Vs 12-13, “I know (have learned) what it is to be in need and 


I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being

content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry,

whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things 
 through Him

who gives me strength.”

c) Contentment can’t co-exist with complaining.

2. Giving thanks through sacrificial praise and prayer helps us fulfill our vows.

3. Giving thanks helps us walk in God’s will.

a) DO thank and praise God for everything in your life.

“Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to 
God a sacrifice

of praise – the fruit of lips that 
confess His name.” Hebrews 13:15

b) DON’T complain

c) DON’T compare yourself with others

2 Corinthians 10:12b “When they measure (compare) themselves with themselves they are not wise.”
