You are the salt of the earth.
•He is making it clear how necessary and important we are for the welfare of the world.
•When salt has lost its flavor it turns to dust.
•It is not only good for nothing, but it actually destroys all fertility wherever it is thrown.
•It has to be thrown in the road, where it can’t harm the soil.
•Light removes darkness.
•We not only carry the light of the gospel of the kingdom of God, but we are that light.
•As salt and light, we bring the taste and atmosphere of Jesus’ kingdom to our world.
•Saying “I love my church” isn’t just about us, it doesn’t just impact us; it’s about everyone outside these walls as well.
•Matthew 5:2-10 = The Beatitudes—the values of the kingdom
•Matthew 5:13-16 = Salt & Light—the charge of the kingdom
•Seasoning and shining isn't only about the message we declare with our lips, it’s about how we go about living our lives.
•People will experience the kingdom from you in the natural.
•And they’ll experience it in those moments when the natural becomes extraordinary or supernatural, as people taste and see … from you … that the Lord is good.

<b>Cause an Effect</b><br>Make dinner a selfless act by joining BASIC College students for a fundraiser at Chipotle on Transit Rd. Sunday February 12th, from 12noon to 4pm, bring the special flyer with you and 50% of the proceeds will be donated to UB BASIC!<br><br><b>The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind</b><br>Are you ready to experience the miraculous lifestyle that Jesus made available to you because of the Cross? This 10-week course is your key to unlocking a supernatural lifestyle. Sign up at the welcome counter and pick up a flyer. You will need to purchase your own workbook before the course begins. Starts Saturday, February 25 at 6 PM.<br><br><b>Michael’s Miracle Fundraiser – Friday, February 24, 5 PM</b><br>In 2011 Michael Busch was diagnosed with esophagus cancer. With an enormous amount of prayer and treatment, Michael beat that cancer and continued life cancer free. Sadly, that cancer turned into adrenal cancer this past summer. Michael immediately started treatment but it is taking a massive hit to the finances. His wife, Vicki, left her job to take care of Michael. A fundraiser dinner will be held on Friday, February 24 between 5pm and 8pm in the Love Joy Café. Your $20 admission includes dinner, drink, dessert and one sheet of basket raffle tickets.<br><br><b>Next Steps – Saturday, February 25, 9 AM to 2 PM</b><br>Our Next Step 'one day' class will help you get a feel for what Love Joy is all about!
