A. Think Right (1 Peter 1:13-16)
1 Peter 1:13-16 ESV
1. Prepare your mind for action (1:13)
But God’s ways and our ways are mutually exclusive. We too often want to follow the path of the law and He wants us to follow the path of Grace.
2. Think Soberly (1:13)
When we are focused on our identity in Christ and all that means then we will begin to understand how “life in the easy yoke with Jesus” really works.
Sober thinking is about moving from self-sufficiency to Christ dependency.
3. Focus on the hope that is coming when Christ returns (1:13)
4. Do not be pressed into the world's mold (1:14).
We are set apart by God for God
B. Live Right (1 Peter 1:15-25)
1 Peter 1:15-25 ESV
5. But rather, be holy in the way God is holy (1:15)
6. Determine to live in the proper awe (fear) of God (1:17), fully considering the price Christ paid for our salvation (1:18-21)
7. Love your fellow believer with a sincere and pure heart (22) in obedience to the living and abiding word of God (truth) which remains forever.
