Steve Irwin was a good illustration of having a healthy Fear of dangerous animals. He both respected them and loved them.
Extremes
Too often, we want to return the favor of God's creation back, and we try to re-create a god in our own image! Depending on our own preferences we exaggerate God's characteristics and emphasize either Legalism or License. Legalism binds laws where God has not bound them. License (Liberalism) loosens God's Law where He has not loosened. Both are condemned in Scripture.

Love + Respect = Reverent Fear
Throughout the Scriptures wisdom is referred to as having the "Fear of God." Our lives will be off balance if we don't know God, in pure love and deep respect. Your Creator has your best interest at heart. So serve Him in peace, keeping your hope in His holy righteousness!
