One of the main differences between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant is Emanuel- God with us!
1. Joel 2:28 & 29: ‘“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit’.

2. Jeremiah 30:31 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,…. 33 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

Now the Holy Spirit is Within
John 20:19-22: ‘On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit’.
1. John 20:22 A Historical Day- the first time in all of history when the Holy Spirit began to dwell within a human.

The Anointing; the Holy Spirit Upon us gives us the supernatural ability of God to serve Him
1. Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
2. The apostle Paul relied on God’s dunamis power rather than his own abilities

3. Jesus, Himself, was led and empowered by the Holy Spirit
Luke 4.1, Luke 4.14

Moves of the Holy Spirit can be both God and church initiated!
1. In Acts 2 they waited on the Holy Spirit in obedience to Jesus’ instructions and the Holy Spirit came upon them with power!
2. In Acts 4, as persecution was beginning, the Holy Spirit came in power as they gathered and prayed:
Acts 4:31 ‘And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness’.

The fruit of Pentecost
1. A boldness came on the disciples and they were transformed from fearful to fearless!
2. Thousands were saved

The fruit of Pentecost
3. There began to be a freedom for healings and miracles
4. The church was birthed
Acts 2:42-47: And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
