Hickory Valley Community Church
The Power of an Invitation
Inviting people to a party is a no-brainer if it’s a great party. And that’s exactly what God is asking us to do with our friends. He’s throwing a big party for His Son. You are invited. And you’re invited to invite others, too! As we will discover this Sunday, people are open to an invitation, if it is from someone they know. Join us this Sunday as we explore a parable told by Jesus that reveals "The Power of an Invitation".

God likes parties! He’s throwing a party in honor of his Son. Every Christian here as the incredible privilege and responsibility to invite your family and friends to that unimaginable party!
Some were stubborn. Some were too busy to come. Some were abusive. But the Father commanded them to keep inviting. Some are so paralyzed by the though of rejection, they aren't even trying. Surely, we can accept a little rejection. It is that important!

67% of Americans say a personal invitation from a family member would be very or somewhat effective in getting them to visit a church.

63% of Americans are very or somewhat willing to receive information about a local congregation or faith community from a family member.

56% of Americans are very or somewhat willing to receive information about a local congregation or faith community from a friend or neighbor.
Notice who comes to the party: people both evil and good. God is making no distinction between open "sinners" and the "morally correct." Everyone is invited. It does not make any difference whether people have a respectable reputation or are a dishonorable one. No matter who they are, if people have a need, whether they are of good reputation or not, they are invited.
