Recap: Today we continue our series as we look at the Psalms of Ascent. These songs were like a mix tape or playlist for a road trip. The Israelites would sing these songs on their pilgrimage to Jerusalem to give them focus on their journey. These same scripture songs can give us focus on our journey as well.
In Psalm 128 we learn that the good life we all long for comes when we walk in God’s ways and are in awe of Him. His ways are ways of love and even though they don’t always make sense or can seem challenging, He is always leading us toward the good life and all the benefits that go along with that life. Will we walk in His ways?

Questions:
(1)When was a time that you got lost? What happened?
(2)We don’t usually think about God caring if we’re happy and certainly not happy happy. Read 1 John 3:1. What do you think it means to “lavish” love on someone?
(3)In Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus talks about what it looks like to walk in God’s ways. What do you think this should practically look like in your life?
(4)The Psalm writer gives some of the benefits of the good life if we’ll walk in God’s ways. Which of those 4: The blessing of your feelings, the blessing of provision, the blessing of family, the blessing of futures means the most to you right now? Read Psalm 128:1-6.
(5)If there are all these benefits, why don’t you take God’s trail more than you do? What does this say or not say about your trust, or awe, or expectations of God at work in your life?
(6)Where have you seen the trail be harder, but after the difficulty, you were grateful you stayed the course and followed Him?
(7)What can you do this week to take his “happy happy” trail, even if it seems harder?
