Inasmuch as the great Father has given us this year an abundant harvest; Inasmuch as He has protected us from the ravages of the savages,
Inasmuch as He spared us from the pestilence and disease,
Inasmuch as He has had granted us freedom to worship God according to the dictates of our own conscience;
Now, I, your magistrate do proclaim that all ye Pilgrims, with your wives and little ones, do gather at ye meeting house, on Thursday, November ye 29 of the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and twenty three, and the third year since the pilgrims landed on ye Pilgrim Rock, there to listen to ye pastor, and render thanksgiving to ye Almighty God for all His Blessings.

So great is His loving kindness toward those who fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.
14 For He Himself knows our frame;
He is mindful that we are but dust.
