Sunday Morning Adult Study Group

We all know what’s required to fall in love… a pulse. Falling in love is easy. But staying there―that’s something else entirely. With more than a thousand matchmaking services available today and new ones springing up all the time, finding a romantic match can be easier than ever. But staying together with the one you’ve found seems to be the real challenge.

So, is it possible for two people to fall in love and actually stay there? Absolutely! Join us as Andy Stanley will show us how through the four sessions of Staying in Love. The group starts Sunday, November 13 and meets on Sunday morning during both services, so you can choose either service to attend the Adult Study Group and then attend the other service. You can sign up online at http://groups.HitTheRiver.com.

Thanksgiving Meals
We have a great opportunity for community groups, families, or individuals to live out the whole Walk Across The Room lifestyle! You can volunteer, assemble, and deliver a Thanksgiving Meal to bless a family in need within our 5-mile radius.

The church will supply the ham and the name of a family in need. You would purchase the accompanying sides and deliver the meal. You’ll be given a list of suggested sides that would be simple for the family to make along with the family’s contact information and guidelines. You may be thinking why a ham? It is because some people don’t have an oven, or a full size oven, that will accommodate cooking a turkey.

If you would like to participate, please sign up by filling out a Thanksgiving Meal card located on a glass table at the guest center and place it in the wooden box. If you personally know of a family in need OR if you would be blessed by a meal for your family, please check the appropriate box on the Thanksgiving Meal card. We only have a limited number of hams available, so sign up as soon as possible. Hams will be available for delivery between November 13 to November 22. For more information email info@HitTheRiver.com.

Choosing God’s priorities and living them God’s way yields God’s results.
2. Our choices always have consequences.
“Tension and frustration mount when we are performing the wrong tasks or trying to cram too many of the right activities into a given period…. A critical spirit develops and we begin to judge and condemn others for what they do or don’t do. Anytime you feel a wave of criticism gaining momentum in your spirit remember that it’s completely out of line as far as God is concerned.”
Charles Hummel, Freedom from the Tyranny of the Urgent
3. Wisdom consistently chooses the best over the good.
“The reason most major goals are not achieved is that we spend our time doing second things first.”
Robert J. McKain
When this bright world would tempt me sore,
When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way,
Then help me Lord with joy to say;

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Give me Father, a purpose deep,
In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what e’er the strife,
Pleasing Thee in my daily life;

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
C.T. Studd “Only One Life”
