GOD IS CALLING HIS PEOPLE TO MOVE

GOD WANTS US TO MOVE WHEN HE DIRECTS

PROVERBS 3:6 NLT

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.

· GOD GUIDED ISRAEL TO JOURNEY WHEN THEY SAW THE CLOUD MOVE.

· THEY MOVED WITH THE CLOUD FOLLOWING THE ARK OF GOD’S PRESENCE

Numbers 9:21-22 TLB

20-21 Sometimes the fire-cloud stayed only during the night and moved on the next morning. But day or night, when it moved, the people broke camp and followed. 22 If the Cloud stayed above the Tabernacle two days, a month, or a year, that is how long the people of Israel stayed; but as soon as it moved, they moved.

· EVERYONE AS A FAMILY MOVED TO FOLLOW THE CLOUD AND TABERNACLE

GOD WANTS US TO MOVE BECAUSE HE HAS A “WHY” TO MOVE EVEN THOUGH YOU MIGHT NOT GET IT IN THE “NOW”

· IT TAKES FAITH TO MOVE OUT OF WHAT IS COMFORTABLE, FAMILIAR & KNOWN

GENESIS 12:1 ISV

The LORD told Abram, "You are to leave your land, your relatives, and your father's house and go to the land that I'm going to show you.

1. PHYSICAL LOCATION WILL HAVE TO MOVE

2. ASSOCIATIONS WILL MOVE

3. COMMITMENTS WILL MOVE

· God gave Abram a command to MOVE!

· The MOVE was about the destiny of Abram and a big “WHY”!

· Abram had to MOVE and the move would be costly!

Genesis 12:2-3 NIV

2 “I will make you into a great nation,and I will bless you;

I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

3 I will bless those who bless you,and whoever curses you I will curse, and all peoples on earthwill be blessed through you.

· ThePROMISE & BLESSING waits on the other side of the MOVE!

THE BIG ‘WHY’ FOR ABRAM WAS THAT ALL PEOPLE WOULD BE BLESSED THOUGH HIM AS HE STEPPED OUT IN FAITH AND MOVED AWAY FROM THE COMFORTABLE FAMILIAR, & KNOWN INTO SOMETHING NEW!

THE “NEW” REQUIRES A “NEW” MIND OR THINKING

· IT IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT WHEN YOU MOVE

· THERE WILL BE NEW PEOPLE & RELATIONSHIPS

· THERE WILL BE NEW RESOURCES

· THERE WILL BE NO COMMITMENTS

RUTH 1:1-7 MESSAGE

1-2 Once upon a time—it was back in the days when judges led Israel— there was a famine in the land. A man from Bethlehem in Judah left home to live in the country of Moab, he and his wife and his two sons. The man’s name was Elimelech; his wife’s name was Naomi; his sons were named Mahlon and Kilion—all Ephrathites from Bethlehem in Judah. They all went to the country of Moab and settled there.3-5 Elimelech died and Naomi was left, she and her two sons. The sons took Moabite wives; the name of the first was Orpah, the second Ruth. They lived there in Moab for the next ten years. But then the two brothers, Mahlon and Kilion, died. Now the woman was left without either her young men or her husband. 6-7 One day she got herself together, she and her two daughters-in-law, to leave the country of Moab and set out for home; she had heard that God had been pleased to visit his people and give them food. And so she started out from the place she had been living, she and her two daughters-in-law with her, on the road back to the land of Judah.

NAOMI HAD GONE TO MOAB AND MANY BAD THINGS HAPPENED TO HERE WHILE THERE.

HER HUSBAND DIED

HER TWO SONS DIED

SHE LOST HER LAND AND INCOME

SHE WAS LED TO MOVE BACK TO HER HOME IN BETHLEHEM HEARING ABOUT GOD VISITING HIS PEOPLE WITH FINANCIAL BLESSING.

SHE DID NOT COME BACK ALONE, HER DAUGHTER-IN-LAW RUTH CAME WITH HER!

Ruth 1:16

But Ruth replied, "Don't ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.

Ruth understood that Naomi could not MOVE with her!

They had a destiny that was united and tied together!

Together they would MOVE!

Together they would have Restoration & Blessing!

Together God guided their footsteps to the Kinsman Redeemer Boaz and the future legacy of Israel and David was going to be established.

WHY?

· Because the Promise awaits when you and I leave the confortable, familiar and known when we take the leap of faith and MOVE!
