Conversation Starters – Daniel 3:1-30
ExpandTAKEAWAY: What is one takeaway or one question that you had from the sermon?
THINKING BACK: Have you ever been in a situation or seen a situation when someone’s faith was offensive? What happened? OR in what ways might your faith be offensive in our contemporary culture?
REFLECT: What is real faith? What’s the difference between believing God can and will do something, and believing that “even if” he doesn’t he is still God, he is still good, he is still in control?
MAKE IT PERSONAL: Where are the places in your life that you need to say “even if” to?
BRAINSTORMING: How does the fact that God saves through and within the furnace change our perspective in times of strife?
PRAY: As we come to prayer contemplate Hebrews 4:14-16 and the way Christ enters the furnace before us and with us. And as we pray let us remind ourselves that God is God, God is good, and God is still in control.
Hebrews 4:14-16,
"Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
