John 18:36

QUOTE

“As the messiahship of Christ involved two phases, a coming in humility to suffer and die, and a coming in power and glory to reign, so the kingdom is to be manifested in two realms: the present realm of righteousness or salvation when men may accept or reject the kingdom, and the future realm when the powers of the kingdom shall be manifested in visible glory. The former was inaugurated in insignificant beginnings without outward display, and those who accept it are to live intermingled with those who reject it until the consummation. Then the kingdom will be disclosed in a mighty manifestation of power and glory. God’s kingdom will come; and the ultimate state will witness the perfect realization of the will of God everywhere and forever”

(1) ALREADY

Matthew 4:12-17

REPENT - The Greek word is metanoeō. It literally means to change ones mind for better. It can go even deeper—meaning to heartily amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins.

Luke 5:31-32

What, in your life, do you need to repent of?

When we repent, it is so much more than just saying sorry to God for something you’ve done. It's more than just telling a priest what you did. It is mourning your sin because it is against God! It is hating that sin and giving it over to God and running from that sin in the opposite direction! When Jesus calls us into repentance it is a call to a different life altogether! And it is something we should continue to teach to one another!

Luke 24:45-47

(2) ARE WE THERE YET?

Romans 12:12

1. Rejoice in hope - We rejoice in the coming of His kingdom here on earth / the coming and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit / the promised future glory of eternity with God / in our ultimate redemption and our justification through the victory already won for us.

2. Patience in tribulation - The word tribulation is compared to a word used for pressure. Here they are not the normal pressures of living, but the inevitable troubles that come to followers of Christ because of their relationship with Him.

3. Constant in prayer - When something comes up, we give it to God in that moment. When anger strikes unexpectedly—stop and give it God. When anxiety comes rushing in like a flood—stop and give it to God.
CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK - Memorize Romans 12:12

"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."

Philippians 2:14-16
