What are the Gospel accounts?
1: The Gospel accounts are not an attempt to get a chronological balanced biography of the life of Jesus.
2: They are not an attempt to give a full rendering of the exact sayings and actions of Jesus down to the last detail.
3: The 4 gospel accounts are the written record of God's redemptive history.
4: The Gospels are 4 independent and cohesive portraits of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Can we trust the Gospel accounts as historical fact?
1: We can trust them because they are eyewitness accounts.
2: We can trust them because they were written and circulated during the lifetime of the people who were eyewitnesses.
3: We can trust them because of the way they are written. They are honest and historical.
4: We can trust them because by writing these accounts they gained nothing and it cost them everything.
